Doctor Who

This is also true. I'm now a Doctor Who fangirl-in-the-making.
Purists would probably dismiss this claim, seeing as I have almost no inclination to watching any Doctor Who before the 2005 reprisal, and haven't read any Doctor Who. But, my time and viewing space vehemently declare otherwise and indignantly stick their tongue out at said purists.

I've inhaled Series 1 through 5 and now, I'm waiting for Season 6 - which is not yet available in America.*
My favorite Doctor in this set is Christopher Eccleston, although it took me a little while to get used to him. And my love of the Ninth Doctor is only possibly followed by my love of the the Eleventh, played by Matt Smith (for totally different reasons). My absolutely favorite companion is Donna and my least favorite companion is Martha Jones. I'm still thinking through my reasons for these somewhat polarized, strong sentiments towards um, fictional characters. But I keep thinking that I'd have loved the show if I'd watched it as a child.

It makes me feel the same way that Stone Boy did. (And here's where I tag The Gaul again - remember Stone Boy?)

*Grr. Argh.

:D Yes correct. Although Mauritius wouldn't be so bad right now. Sighs.

CE is my favourite Doctor, too. I remember the very first Who epsiode I saw had an alien made of plastic, and I had a bad moment of WTF when I misheard 'Nestene Consciousness' for 'Nasty Unconsciousness' - but in my defense, I was unused to CE's accent. =)

I have a lukewarm liking for all the companions, but I do like how Martha's story ended. Can't stand River Song, but maybe it's because I saw S5 very erratically.

SSK: Why only lukewarm? And Why can't you stand River Song?

Sorry, only getting back to this now! Actually, now that I think about it, I find I like mostly all other companions except Rose.

Perhaps it was the Ten/Rose that was practically shoved down my throat (by RTD, and all the rabid shippers over on LJ at the time), because I liked Rose when I first saw her, it was just by the Doomsday episode (cannot remember the title) that she began to annoy me.

And River Song annoys me because of the way AK sometimes plays her, I guess. The scenes where she's not in mortal peril or she's one-upping someone (anytime she was in the black dress in 'The Time of Angels', for example) River is insufferably smug.

And I do like Matt Smith, too. Agreed with you on the 9 > 11 >> 10 thing. =)

[Hah, sorry for the TL;DR comment! Shall stop now.]
